Why this

specific trip

When someone lands to Barcelona airport usually expects to be amazed from the beachfront of the region, Gaudi buildings and all the beautiful venues that BCN has to offer. I personally was initially amazed from the breathtaking view of the Pyrenees mountain range; the physical border of France and Spain. Nevertheless, in no way I expected the tremendous thrill that I would feel when I drove to Priorat region and faced the view of the Montsant National Park that encircles the 11 villages of Priorat. Extremely steep hills made of licorella soil that only vines of intense aromas and characteristic purity grow.

Puerta Catalana is a huge sculpture that you face on your left hand side when you cross the borders of France. It stands there to remind to all the travelers that you still remain in Catalan ground despite the current national political borders. I personally have never faced more proud people for their ancestry. Fitou, Paziols, Montner, Peyriac de Mer are only few of the villages of Roussillon that Catalans inhabited since ancient times….actually not only Catalans but also Greeks. Narbonne is considered, together with Marseille, the first colonies of Ancient Greeks in the region. Proud contemporary Catalans together with “flying winemakers” (Australians, Germans, South Africans…) constitute the mosaic of famous natural winemakers that are eager to share with us their anxieties, difficulties, as well as their satisfaction of producing pure masterpieces in the rough ground of Corbieres Montagne, Cotes Catalanes, as well as Region Maritime where Tramontana wind blows like crazy…

For all the aforementioned, we strongly believe that Deunhido.voyage  provides a unique opportunity to explore the common roots of food, wine, culture of the inhabitants of the Mediterranean Sea since ancient times.

The rest of the description/taste/smell feel free to live it in person….
